HIGH POINT, N.C., March 30, 2015 – “Video On Demand” is the way today’s viewers watch, connect with and search for desired programming. Two of High Point’s economic leaders are taking a fresh approach to this world of possibilities.
Through North State’s fiber-optic network, High Point University will offer a video on demand channel that allows viewers to enjoy educational content, as well as campus events, athletics and stories about the people of HPU. The channel is exclusively available to all North State subscribers.
“High Point University has many extraordinary stories, and North State has a modern platform to share those stories with the public,” says Roger Clodfelter, vice president for communications at HPU. “These are two innovative groups partnering to connect with the residents of our city.”
The partnership is being created by a university that has called High Point home for 90 years and a company that was founded in the city more than 100 years ago.
“We both embrace innovation,” says Royster Tucker, President and CEO at North State. “High Point University has become known around the world for extraordinary education, and North State made history by bringing Gigabit Internet to the Triad. Joining forces benefits our organizations and our city.”
