HPU to Host Local, Sustainable Business Manager Eric Henry for Earth Week

HIGH POINT, N.C., April 8, 2015 – Eric Henry, president of TS Designs and the Where Your Clothing Campaign will speak at High Point University at 7:30 p.m. on April 21 in the Francis Auditorium in Phillips Hall. The event is free and open to the public, no tickets are required.

TS Designs is a full-service, sustainable apparel manufacturing and screen printing company in Burlington. The Where Your Clothing Campaign is where you can track the supply chain for a t-shirt from the farmer who grew the cotton to the person who screen printed the shirt.

Henry will be speaking about sustainability with a focus on the apparel industry as a part of HPU’s Earth Week.

“I am looking forward to connecting with the next generation of leaders in regards to the lessons that I have learned looking at sustainability as a journey, not a destination,” says Henry. “I can’t think of a better place than High Point University to speak about this during Earth Week.”

Other events that will be happening during Earth Week include an Earth Day Celebration on April 22, which will be held in Hayworth Park with electronics recycling as well as document shredding on site, and HPU’s Arbor Day Celebration on April 23.

“The Green Team is thrilled to welcome Eric Henry to campus to share his eye-opening message about sustainability in the manufacturing industry,” says Holly Raulston, HPU Green Team member and Web Content Manager. “His presentation will change the way we think about the origin of the products that we buy and the environmental impact of global supply chains.”
