HPU Welcomes Emerich as Manager of Computing Training Services

HIGH POINT, N.C., May 20, 2015 – The Office of Information Technology at High Point University recently hired Debra Emerich as manager of computing training services.

Emerich leads a team that finds opportunities to improve teaching and learning through the application of technology. Her team trains instructors to design and develop online curriculum. They also coordinate workshop sessions and lead hands-on and virtual learning sessions for students and faculty.

Prior to coming to HPU, Emerich worked at the Community College of Baltimore County, where she designed and developed a hybrid online two-year nursing certificate program. With more than 15 years of experience in the educational technology field, Emerich is excited to bring her expertise to her new position at HPU.

“I am looking forward to being a part of the inspiring environment at HPU,” says Emerich. “I hope to impact students by providing them with new opportunities to use technology in their educational career.”

Emerich received her bachelor’s degree at Lewis-Clark State College and has completed certificate courses in Educational Technology Leadership at the George Washington University. She also has received certificates from Quality Matters and the Online Learning Consortium.
