HIGH POINT, N.C., May 22, 2015 – High Point University’s Department of Institutional Advancement recently hired Kimberly Maddrey as an advancement officer.
In this position, Maddrey’s main responsibility is to develop partnerships with parents, alumni and friends of the university and encourage them to invest in the future of the next generation of students who will ultimately benefit High Point and the Triad.
“Parents want to know that they are making a sound investment and that their children will have the skills and innovation to confidently and successfully enter the job market,” says Maddrey. “I will be raising money to support this aim.”
Maddrey began her career in sales with Proctor and Gamble. Since then she has taught English and drama, worked in marketing for the senior industry, and most recently was director of resident quality of life at Providence Place Senior Health and Housing. Maddrey says she is passionate about joining the team at HPU and looks forward to advancing the interests of the university.
“I am taken by the energy and passion for excellence at HPU,” she says. “There is a watchfulness of and sensitivity to the ever-changing demands of the global economy amongst both faculty and administration. They are constantly looking at new programs and majors to meet those emerging needs. Yet even as they look forward, they are committed to making each day rich for the students.”
Maddrey received her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from the University of Kansas and is certified through their master’s program to teach middle and high school English. Maddrey enjoys giving back to the community by participating in the HP Walk to End Alzheimer’s and by singing with a praise band at Greensboro Urban Ministry.
