HIGH POINT, N.C., May 15, 2015 – Two recent High Point University graduates are biking across America for a cause. Shane Keene and Chris Fegan are starting their journey in Oregon on May 16 and making their way to Delaware after spending the semester raising money for their trip. The proceeds will be donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater High Point.
“High Point University has given me so much in the past four years, and I am honored to have the opportunity to give back to this community,” says Keene. “I have a friend who had a stroke and the next year biked across the country, that inspired me to take this trip. Chris and I have always been good friends and we thought it would be a great idea to do this together. There have been a lot of doubts that we won’t be able to accomplish this; we want to prove that wrong.”
“We are both excited to go on an adventure that will challenge us both mentally and physically,” says Fegan, “This is a once in a lifetime trip and I am grateful that we are able to give back to a great organization in the process.”
Following the biking trip, Fegan will be working in the sales department for Every Stitch Counts, an embroidering and screen printing business. Keene will pursue a teaching career in Boston.
