HIGH POINT, N.C., June 9, 2015 – The Office of Student Life at High Point University recently hired Scott Wojciechowski as the director of first-year residential education.
Wojciechowski is responsible for fostering collaboration between first-year residential communities and academic affairs. He will work on building meaningful connections between the first-year seminars and the Common Experience, a new initiative to engage the HPU community in a year-long conversation centered on a common topic.
“At HPU, learning takes place both in and out of the classroom,” says Wojciechowski. “I hope to ensure this happens in a seamless way by overseeing the programs faculty and students develop in the residence halls. These programs will connect back to course content, reinforcing what students are discussing in their classes.”
With expertise in student development and living-learning communities, Wojciechowski plans to use his skill set to strengthen the overall student experience at HPU.
“The energy and entrepreneurial spirit of HPU is contagious,” says Wojciechowski. “I look forward to capitalizing on the existing momentum in steering this cross-divisional program that has the liberal arts at its core, while drawing countless connections from a common theme.”
Wojciechowski received a bachelor’s degree in biology and a Master of Education in secondary education from Lehigh University. He also holds a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs from the University of Iowa.
