HPU Welcomes Jill Connor to Physician Assistant Studies

HIGH POINT, N.C., July 22, 2015 – High Point University recently hired Julienne “Jill” Connor to serve as an assistant professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies.

Connor is course director for Clinical Methods and Procedures I, II and III and Fundamentals of Surgery as well as an instructor in the program. She will provide classroom and lab instruction for the procedures and surgical skills students will need in clinical practice.

“I want to share my energy and love for this profession with our students in a way that will fuel their hunger for knowledge and their desire to excel in clinical practice,” Connor says. “I also want to cultivate their passion for service by helping them not only see the needs of their patients, but also see and address the needs of the people in their communities and beyond.”

A practicing physician assistant with 23 years of experience, Connor has provided patient care in the Triad since 1996. Her clinical experience includes orthopedic surgery, emergency medicine, urology and primary care. Most recently she worked at Regional Emergency Physicians and has previously treated patients at HPU’s Student Health Services. Prior to entering the PA profession, she practiced as a Certified Athletic Trainer.
