Sheri Lim Joins Department of Physician Assistant Studies

HIGH POINT, N.C., July 8, 2015 – Dr. Sheri Lim, a board certified physician with 20 years of experience in internal medicine, recently joined the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at High Point University.

Lim will serve as assistant professor and co-director of Clinical Decision Making, a three-semester course that provides students with a foundation of knowledge in problem-focused evaluation skills and experience diagnosing patients and creating plans for managing their health.

“I believe in a holistic approach to patient care and plan to emphasize evidence-based medicine as I instruct our students,” Lim says. “I want to inspire these new health care providers to continue to be compassionate and caring people and help prepare them for the demanding but rewarding practice of medicine.”

Lim, a resident of High Point since 2002, recently practiced internal medicine at High Point Regional Adult Health Center, where she provided direct patient care to underserved and uninsured adults. She also volunteers with Hospice of the Piedmont and the Community Clinic of High Point.

Lim earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Penn State University and a Doctor of Osteopathy from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her osteopathic internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey at Atlantic City Medical Center and an internal medicine residency at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh.
