HIGH POINT, N.C., Aug. 31, 2015 – High Point University announced today that in the last 14 months it has received $57 million in gifts and pledges. All but $8 million came from outside North Carolina.
Since Dr. Nido Qubein became president, the university has raised more than $275 million without a capital campaign.
“We are blessed and highly favored,” Qubein says. “We are grateful for God’s grace and for our friends and supporters, including parents of current students, who are so generous to this institution.”
The largest gifts break down as follows:
- Two gifts of $10 million
- Three gifts of $5 million
- 17 gifts of $1 million
Donors are residents of New York, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Michigan, Maryland, New Jersey, Colorado, California, and Minnesota.
Thanks to these philanthropic investors, HPU continues to develop academic, residential, and student life facilities on its 400-acre campus, including the upcoming School of Health Sciences and the School of Pharmacy, the newly opened Cottrell Hall and Centennial Square II residential community.
