NBC Internship Helps HPU Junior Invest in Future Career

HIGH POINT, N.C., Aug. 17, 2015 – High Point University junior Blake Pulley is providing her expertise into the financial operations of one of America’s premier entertainment networks during a summer internship with NBCUniversal.

Throughout the summer, Pulley, a New Jersey native, has worked at NBC headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. In her role as business strategy and insights intern, each day’s activities are vastly different, from coding lists for network data to making presentations on celebrity endorsement deals and many other responsibilities in between.

“NBCUniversal is the cream of the crop of entertainment companies. Working in the home of ‘SNL,’ the ‘Today’ show, ‘Nightly News with Lestor Holt,’ ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers,’ and ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ is very special,” she says.

Pulley, who is studying strategic communication and finance at HPU, is planning a career in finance for entertainers and major entertainment companies. She says her HPU experience has laid the groundwork for internship success, and she looks forward to where she’ll go next.

“Working hard in my courses and always striving to be a great critical thinker has helped me transition seamlessly from the classroom to the office,” Pulley says. “Working in strategy and insights at this incredible company has allowed me to start creating my future.”
