HPU Promotes Leadership Staff

HIGH POINT, N.C., Sept. 2, 2015 – High Point University has recently promoted several leaders on campus, including Andy Bills, Debi Butt, Roger Clodfelter, Chris Dudley and Gail Tuttle.

“These leaders have contributed measurably to the growth and transformation during their time at High Point University,” says Dr. Nido Qubein, HPU president. “Their continued leadership will benefit the university as we continue to develop our extraordinary academic institution.”

The announcement comes as the university reaches 10 years of transformation. In the last decade, undergraduate enrollment has tripled, the size of faculty has doubled, and campus acreage has quadrupled.

Andy Bills Bills has been promoted to senior vice president for undergraduate admissions after previously serving as the vice president. He is responsible for overseeing and leading the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Bills is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and went on to have a successful sales and marketing career for 18 years with a Fortune 500 company.

 

Debi ButtButt has been promoted to vice president for financial affairs after previously serving as the chief financial officer. She is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling the services and activities of the accounting services operation at HPU, as well as the financial reporting and administration of necessary controls to effectively manage the university’s resources. Prior to joining HPU in 2013, Butt served as director of finance and budget at Roanoke College, executive director of finance and university controller at Hollins University and senior director of finance at Goodwill Industries of the Valleys.

 

Roger ClodfelterClodfelter has been promoted to senior vice president for communications after previously serving as the vice president. He is responsible for overseeing university media relations, publications and branding for HPU. Clodfelter joined HPU in 1996 as an admissions counselor and has held several roles. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in communication studies from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

 

Chris DudleyDudley has been promoted to senior vice president for development after previously serving as the vice president. He is responsible for leading the Office of Institutional Advancement and alumni and parent programs. Dudley, who graduated from HPU in 1994, worked at Tar Heel Sports Marketing before returning to HPU in 1999 as director of athletic development and marketing for HPU’s NCAA Division I athletic programs. In 2005, he began working in senior administration and, over the past 10 years, held positions as vice president for community relations, vice president for administration and chief of staff.

 

Tuttle has been promoted to senior vice president for student life after previously serving as the vice president. She is responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment Gail Tuttlethat contributes to the success of HPU students. She also serves as the administrator who assists and leads the establishment of a student environment that is conducive to learning, providing a sense of community in all residential areas and promoting an engaged and healthy community. Tuttle received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Morehead State University and her master’s degree in public administration from HPU. She joined HPU as a staff member in 1985 and has served in several roles since, including coordinator of student services, assistant dean and dean of evening degree programs.
