HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 26, 2015 – What does it take to turn an internship into a full-time position? According to High Point University senior Christian Flamman, it takes an entrepreneurial mind, the will to expand your network, and the ability to work hard. Using these strategies, he recently turned an internship with SocialSign.in in New York into a job as a sales development officer.
Flamman, a native of Setauket, New York, began working at SocialSign.in, a TechStars company that specializes in Wi-Fi marketing, during his sophomore year. After two years of interning, he now works in a full-time position while also continuing his studies at HPU.
Some of Flamman’s responsibilities include creating new sales campaigns, creating and managing a sales development process and managing business accounts. This past summer, he worked alongside fellow HPU student Sarah Saxon on account management, social media and managing sales development interns. He still performs many of the same responsibilities now from the comfort of his residence hall.
“High Point University helped me by providing professors who have real world experience,” says Flamman. ”Their advice positioned me to enter into a competitive job market with advanced skills that I could apply instantly.”
With a major in business administration concentrating in entrepreneurship and a minor in marketing, Flamman plans to work in the sales field after graduation and would like to eventually create his own company.
