HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 23, 2015 – High Point University student and faculty musicians from a variety of ensembles will perform at the upcoming Winter Band Concert. The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 in Hayworth Fine Arts Center, Pauline Theatre. It is free and open to the public; tickets are not required.
The Winter Band Concert, an annual event showcasing the wide-ranging talents of HPU musicians, will present holiday favorites in various styles. Joining the HPU Symphonic Band will be several of the HPU chamber ensembles, including the Brass Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Flute Ensemble and others.
”This year’s instrumental winter concert will include the largest concert band in HPU’s history, as well as some of our outstanding small ensembles,” says Dr. Danny Frye, director of instrumental studies and university bands. “The diverse palette of instrumental colors and the variety of music should provide something for everyone. We hope you will join us for this exciting concert!”
