Clark Joins School of Pharmacy

HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 15, 2015 – The School of Pharmacy at High Point University hired Dr. Bradley Clark as an associate professor of basic pharmaceutical sciences.

Clark comes to HPU from a career in the pharmaceutical industry focused on drug product development with a number of pharma companies of various sizes. Withthis experience, he has developed an expertise in the technical and regulatory intricacies of developing new pharmaceutical products, including the financial investment needed and the challenges of getting products approved for sale in the marketplace.

He says he looks forward to sharing his unique background with students and providing relevant examples of how scientific principles are applied in the pharmacy profession.

“What a wonderful opportunity it is to be part of the start of a new pharmacy school here at High Point University,” says Clark. “I am looking forward to helping further students’ understanding of the scientific basis of pharmacy, and how the profession can address the latest health care challenges.

At HPU, Clark teaches courses in pharmaceutics, physical pharmacy and pharmacokinetics. His research focuses on the study of drug delivery into the body, with a focus on pharmaceutical dosage forms.

Clark received his Bachelor of Science in pharmacy and a doctorate in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Georgia and is a licensed pharmacist in the state of Georgia. While in the pharmaceutical industry he was involved in a number of research and development projects, and was involved in commercialization of many of them. He served as chairman of the Pharmaceutical Technologies section of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists from 2006 to 2007, and has served on the editorial boards of multiple pharmaceutical science publications.
