HIGH POINT, N.C., Feb. 15, 2016 – High Point University hired Luke Dixon as a laboratory manager in the Department of Biology.
Dixon is responsible for managing introductory laboratory classrooms and courses. He ensures they are organized and adequately provisioned, and oversees maintenance of the equipment students use. He also conducts the safety training of undergraduate laboratory assistants and maintains current safety data sheet information for the department’s hazardous chemicals.
“I am excited about the new opportunity and having the ability to make meaningful contributions to the education of students in science at High Point University,” says Dixon.
Dixon served for three years as a laboratory manager and research technician at the Department of Biological Sciences at Winston-Salem State University. He also has served as a research technician in the Social Insect Lab at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Dixon earned a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from UNCG.
