HIGH POINT, N.C., Feb. 26, 2016 – Shannon Williams has joined the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as an admissions counselor.
Williams connects with prospective students from South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama by attending college fairs and visiting high schools in those areas. She also builds relationships with applicants, families and high school guidance counselors and meets with visitors during campus tours and events.
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with High Point University’s future students during such an exciting time,” says Williams. “I feel honored to have been a part of HPU’s growing and changing community as an undergraduate student and now as a staff member.”
Williams is a 2015 HPU graduate. As a student, Williams served as an intern in the admissions office and as a university ambassador. She earned her bachelor’s degree in human relations with a minor in psychology.
Williams is also committed to service in the community. She currently mentors two third-grade girls through Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Piedmont. As a student, she interned with the Women’s Resource Center of Greensboro and Goodwill Industries of Central North Carolina.
