How HPU helped you get there: “HPU allowed me the ability to excel in my studies through unbelievable facilities and support. Most people don’t understand how incredible the resources HPU provides are and how accessible and how incredible of an edge it provides to students who decide to take full advantage of them. Tutoring service, ability to foster relationships with professors, accessibility of professors in and outside of class, the Career and Professional Development offices, the class sizes, the libraries and the tools they provide… the list goes on. Career and Professional Development really provided great insight and coaching into how to build an effective LinkedIn page that is a great representation of who I am professionally. Ultimately, HPU as a whole allowed me the ability to consciously chose the path I wanted to pave for my life and provided support to help me get there.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “I have several mentors that I can’t leave unmentioned. Dr. Tjai Nielsen, Professor Larry Quinn, Professor Premalata Sundaram, and the entire Coaching Staff of the Men’s Division 1 Basketball Program. All of these mentors had massive parts in shaping me into the person I am today. I appreciate them and have the highest respects for each and everyone of them.“
Most impactful moment at HPU: “Winning a regular season championship on the Men’s Div 1 Basketball team in my first year at High Point. I will never forget that year as a whole with my team. Hands down the most life changing year of my life to date.”
Advice for underclassmen: “Believe in yourself at all times. There will be times where you feel beat down, but as long as you stay focused, motivated, and most importantly enjoy yourself, anything is possible.”
