Rebecca Crellin Joins IT Department

HIGH POINT, N.C., March 9, 2016 – The Office of Information Technology at High Point University welcomes Rebecca Crellin as manager of information security systems. She works within the IT department to create and implement security policy to keep students’ information safe.

She most recently spent a year in residence at the University of Idaho as research applications development manager. She taught computer science and JAVA programming at Community College of Allegheny County in Pittsburgh for eight years. She has also taught biology and environmental science at the college level, as well as high school math.

“To go forward in America, we need not only skilled workers but also a society that attains intellectual and philosophical viewpoints,” she says. “I am so happy to be at this university amongst a student population that is being taught about community service and how they can have a positive impact in this world.”

Crellin is currently pursuing a doctorate in computer science with a focus on critical infrastructure cyber security from the University of Idaho. She has a master’s degree in engineering technologies from Murray State University, a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Austin Peay State University, and an associate degree in computer technology from Florida Institute of Technology.
