HIGH POINT, N.C., April 12, 2016 – High Point University’s Sigma Nu fraternity held a Car Show on April 9 at Oak Hollow Festival Park where they raised $4,000 for Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), an organization that provides care to those that are grieving the death of a loved one that served in the Armed Forces.

The Car Show featured more than 150 exotic and luxury vehicles. The event was sponsored by Shine Shop Automotive, Foreign Cars Italia, Vann York Chevy and Bentley of High Point.

“The HPU Sigma Nu Car Show was the result of countless hours of hard work with the goal of creating an event that would leave a lasting impression for a great cause,” said Sigma Nu fraternity member Michael Brett. “We were fortunate to be partnered with such an amazing organization such as TAPS to provide them with the support they need.”

“I am incredibly proud of the work that the fraternity has done,” said president of Sigma Nu Eddie Whitlock. “I was thrilled that we were able to raise money for such an impactful organization while building relationships within the community.”

More than a dozen businesses and organizations, such as National Guard, Marines, H&R Block, Blue House Media Group and the Tubano Shop all had booths at the event. The fraternity invited local food trucks including Boone Doggies and Sunset Slush Italian Ice.
