HPU Announces New Hires

HIGH POINT, N.C., May 5, 2016 – High Point University welcomed four new staff members during the month of April. They are as follows:

Nate Thanos
Nate Thanos

– Nate Thanos joined High Point University’s Information Technology team as a system specialist. In this role, he works with business analysts and vendors on system enhancements that improve the student learning process. Before coming to HPU, Thanos served as a senior system specialist for N.C. Virtual Public Schools. He holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a major in computer information systems. He is a graduate of the UNC School of Government Certified Chief Technology Officer Program.

Alison Banther
Alison Banther

– Alison Banther joined High Point University’s Business Office as an accounts payable specialist. In her new role, she assists the university in processing payments by reconciling invoices and purchase orders to move them through the workflow system. Banther previously worked at Rehab Builders Inc. in Winston-Salem, where she was in charge of all accounts payable tasks. She holds a degree in accounting.

Erica Burroughs
Erica Burroughs

– High Point University welcomed Erica Burroughs to the Institutional Advancement team as the director of family engagement. She works with the President’s Leadership Cabinet and Parents Council to enrich and enhance the student experience at HPU. Her prior experience includes working in higher education as a major gift officer and director of development. She also served as vice president for Ayoub & Associates in Las Vegas. Burroughs holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and will complete a Master of Science in August 2016. She is also a certified Guerilla Marketing Coach.

Amanda Meinhardt
Amanda Meinhardt

– Amanda Meinhardt joined the High Point University Events team as an event planner. She is responsible for overseeing and planning the Community Enrichment Series at HPU, which features dozens of cultural events, speakers and performances on the HPU campus that are open to the public throughout each semester. She started working in events while earning her undergraduate degree and previously worked at the O. Henry Hotel in Greensboro.

HPU employs more than 1,500 faculty and staff members, up from 430 in 2005.
