HIGH POINT, N.C., May 11, 2016 – Wilma Jordan and George Green of New York City are establishing an endowment for High Point University’s Learning Excellence program.
Learning Excellence is a distinctive program at HPU that provides a support system to assist students in achieving extraordinary academic success. The program is open to any student and offers extensive support with learning differences and for those who want to organize and improve their academic abilities.
The Wilma Jordan and George Green Endowment is a major gift that will further the capabilities of this program to help students thrive in their educational journey.
The family, of New York City, has a current student attending HPU. Wilma Jordan is founder and CEO of the Jordan, Edmiston Group, Inc. (JEGI), and George Green is the former President and CEO of Hearst Magazines International.
“Their entrepreneurial spirit has blazed trails for others to follow,” Qubein says about the family. “We’re appreciative of their commitment to HPU and are blessed to know this family. The impact they’ve made on HPU reflects the importance of family giving and the numerous ways HPU parents contribute to the mission of this university.”
