Student Newspaper Receives First-Place Award

HIGH POINT, N.C., May 16, 2016 – High Point University’s student newspaper, The Campus Chronicle, was recently awarded first place in the 2016 American Scholastic Press Association’s Annual Review and Contest Awards.

The contest compares student publications throughout the country on content, design, photography and overall quality.

James Ensor, the editor in chief of the Campus Chronicle, says the newspaper staff represents a diverse mix of majors and interests, which in turn produces dynamic content in each edition.

The Campus Chronicle has a core editorial team composed of seven student editors and a staff of about two dozen student writers and photographers. The paper publishes twice per month with a total of 12 editions throughout the academic year.

“Our staff works hard to cover a variety of people, events and topics on our campus,” says Ensor. “We’re grateful that our hard work is recognized not only by the HPU family, but by a national organization.”
