HPU to Host Eastern Music Festival’s Young Artist Orchestra

HIGH POINT, N.C., July 5, 2016 – High Point University will host an evening of patriotic music with the Eastern Music Festival, an annual event held on campus. The performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. on July 18 in the Pauline Theatre of Hayworth Fine Arts Center.

The event is open to the public. A limited number of complimentary tickets are available by emailing [email protected] or calling 336-841-9209. Professional dress is required.

The performance will include lively and entertaining pieces from America’s musical history presented by the Eastern Music Festival’s Young Artist Band. Selections include excerpts from “The Star Spangled Banner,” “The Glory of the Yankee Navy,” “Stars and Stripes Forever” and much more.

In its 55th year, the Eastern Music Festival promotes musical enrichment, excellence, professional collaboration and innovation through a nationally recognized teaching program, music festival, concerts and other programs. It features accomplished faculty and students, exhilarating repertoire, world-renowned visiting artists and extensive community outreach to create one of the country’s finest summer educational institutions and performance festivals.

Attendees should enter campus from North Centennial Street at Montlieu Avenue/International Avenue. Parking for the event is available behind Hayworth Fine Arts Center.
