HIGH POINT, N.C., July 13, 2016 – Dr. Courtney L. Bradley and Dr. Christina H. Sherrill, assistant professors in the Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy at High Point University, have become Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacists through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties.
BPS is the premier post-licensure certification agency worldwide that operates across the pharmacy profession to provide specialty certification of pharmacists. More than 20,000 pharmacists worldwide are certified. Ambulatory care is a pharmacy specialty that focuses on addressing the medication needs of patients in an outpatient setting.
“This additional credentialing recognizes their expertise in the area of ambulatory care pharmacy and is an additional level of training that is over and beyond that required for pharmacists,” says Dr. Mary Jayne Kennedy, professor and chair of the pharmacy school’s Department of Clinical Sciences. “This is a tremendous accomplishment and one that is highly regarded in the pharmacy community.”

BPS certification is a voluntary process by which a pharmacist’s education, experience, knowledge and skills in a particular practice area are confirmed as well beyond what is required for licensure.
“I am humbled to be joining the ranks of thousands of other pharmacists, some of whom have been my mentors,” says Sherrill.
“I am honored to receive this recognition and am hopeful that this credential will allow me to further expand advanced clinical practice within the High Point community,” says Bradley.
