HIGH POINT, N.C., July 27, 2016 – High Point University rising senior James Ensor wanted an internship with a major company that would enhance his business skills. He found that close to HPU’s campus at Old Dominion Freight Line when the company selected him as a pricing and costing analyst intern for the summer.
Ensor, a Louisville, Kentucky native, works with the Director of Yield Management to analyze data sets that are key performance indicators for the company. He takes a close look at competitors and compiles in-depth studies to give Old Dominion Freight Line a competitive advantage in the market.
“Interning with Old Dominion has allowed me to solidify the skills and concepts that I have learned during my time at HPU,” Ensor says. “Throughout the summer I have sharpened my business acumen all while continuing to gain valuable experience in a corporate environment.”
The business administration and actuarial science major says he’s grateful for the Triad’s thriving business community that allowed him to find a competitive internship close to campus.
“The Triad is a great place for young professionals to network and connect,” says Ensor. “HPU is in the heart of the action which makes it great for students who are looking for new opportunities right in their own backyard.”
Ensor joins a group of students who’ve interned at some of the leading companies in the area including Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation, BB&T, Lincoln Financial Group, The Volvo Group, Mack Trucks, Trone Brand Energy, Krispy Kreme and many others.
