HIGH POINT, N.C., July 19, 2016 – High Point University rising senior Caleb Waltersdorf is learning the ins and outs of the business world through his internship at Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance this summer.
Within the Bankruptcy Department, his job responsibilities include managing accounts, communicating with customers and setting up payment plans.
“I am the only intern within the Bankruptcy Department, so I have been given the opportunity to take on a lot of responsibility,” says Waltersdorf. “I love my team and have learned a lot of new things by working with them.”
An Albany, New York, native with a major in business administration, Waltersdorf credits his internship success to HPU.
“High Point University helped me tremendously through this entire process,” says Waltersdorf. “The Office of Career and Professional Development helped me write and perfect my resume to give me an edge over other applicants. They also taught me the do’s and don’ts of the interview process. But most importantly, I found Vanderbilt through an HPU Career and Internship Expo.”
Following graduation in May 2017, Waltersdorf hopes to land a job in finance.
“I believe this internship is a great stepping stone for my future career,” says Waltersdorf. “It has given me extensive knowledge on real estate and loan information. I got to be part of a phenomenal team and receive real world experience within the field I want to pursue.”
