HIGH POINT, N.C., Sept. 27, 2016 – The Petal Points, High Point University’s all-female a cappella group, will host its second annual Aca-toberfest to benefit the Greater High Point Food Alliance. The event will be held at 7 p.m. on Oct. 1 in the Pauline Theater of Hayworth Fine Arts Center.
The event is open to the public. Attendees are asked to bring nonperishable food items, which will be donated to the food alliance.
The a cappella festival will feature seven groups, including HPU’s Petal Points, Toccatatones and Offbeats, as well as groups from North Carolina State University and Elon University.
Since the event kicks off the month of October, it will have a Halloween theme. Performers and attendees are encouraged to come dressed in costumes.
“We are so excited to be hosting Aca-toberfest again this year,” says Petal Points member Alison Astone. “We cannot wait to see how much support we can raise for the Greater High Point Food Alliance. Last year, we collected 311 canned good items and are excited about increasing the number.”
