Junior Interns at RVM Enterprises, Inc.

HIGH POINT, N.C., DATE, 2016 – High Point University junior Cameron Zell spent the summer in New York City as a digital forensics and professional services intern with RVM Enterprises, Inc.—a company that works with global corporations and law firms across the nation to recover and manage electronic data that may have been deleted or hidden.

The business major and Ringoes, New Jersey, native learned to handle demanding eDiscovery and data processing projects during his internship.

“I provided assistance in guiding projects from beginning to end in order to help clients meet deadlines and achieve goals through the entire eDiscovery process,” says Zell. “This part of my job included analyzing and processing data for large lawsuits and government inquiries.”

Zell says that he not only learned the logistics of eDiscovery but also how to communicate with C-level executives for some of the world’s largest financial and legal institutions. Nevertheless, his favorite part of working for RVM was the investigatory process.

“Working in forensic discovery, I was responsible for finding and reconstructing all kinds of digital media,” says Zell. “There was a ‘thrill of the chase’ feeling within the investigative work, which made it somewhat addictive.”

Zell says his time at HPU and consistent encouragement from his freshman year success coach, Akir Khan, helped prepare him for the RVM internship.

“The social skills I’ve developed helped a great deal, particularly, being accustomed to excellence,” says Zell. “Being located on Wall Street, not once did I feel intimidated with the multiple environments I was placed in.”

As for the remainder of his time at HPU, Zell says that the time management skills he learned in NYC will help him in college and beyond.

“Getting up at 5 a.m. to commute to the city and coming home at 8:30 p.m. every day, it definitely was a grind,” says Zell. “With this type of schedule, it required a commitment to both my personal and professional life that I intend to carry on throughout my junior year at HPU.”
