HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 25, 2016 – High Point University faculty and staff recently received the following academic and professional awards and recognitions.

Business School Dean Named to Hospice Board
Dr. Jim Wehrley, dean of the Earl N. Phillips School of Business, joined the Board of Directors for Hospice of the Piedmont. Hospice provides medical, emotional and spiritual support for those with life-limiting illness and their families. Hospice of the Piedmont serves four counties of the Triad – Guilford, Randolph, Davidson and Forsyth.
“I’m honored to be appointed to the Hospice of the Piedmont Board of Directors,” says Wehrley. “The efforts of this organization are invaluable to the lives of all those they touch. I look forward to working with the President and CEO, Trent Cockerham, and all the board members.”
Research Director Selected for Three Leadership Honors
Tim Linker, director of research administration and sponsored programs, received three recognitions for his leadership in the field of university research administration. He was named editor in chief of the Journal of Research Administration and president elect of the North Carolina Chapter of the Society of Research Administrators International. He also was named an SRA Distinguished Faculty Member.
Linker leads the Office of Research Administration and Sponsored Programs at HPU, which identifies research opportunities and ensures the integrity of the university’s research program.
“I am proud to represent High Point University in the field of research administration,” says Linker. “It’s exciting to be a part of the university’s growing research efforts involving the scholastic interests of both our faculty and students.”
