HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 8, 2016 – For the final week, the works of seven High Point University students will be on display in the 2016 Juried Photo Biennial gallery at the Center for Visual Arts in Greensboro.
Seven students were accepted into the gallery through a statewide competition for college students, where their submitted work was judged by a single juror and chosen for the gallery. The display opened in early September and Nov. 11 is the last day to visit the exhibition.
HPU photography professors Dr. Benita Van Winkle and Dr. Cherl Harrison say they are honored to have seven HPU students accepted into the competition. Participation in the show was open to all photographers in North Carolina with a special category for students. Harrison also entered the competition and her work is now displayed alongside her students’.
“The juror gave a speech at the opening reception where she praised the quality of the works submitted by HPU,” said Harrison. “It was a wonderful experience to be in an exhibition with some of my students and to receive positive feedback from the crowd.”
