HIGH POINT, N.C., Jan. 18, 2017 – High Point University welcomed four new staff members during the month of December. They are as follows:
Darren Hill joins the Office of Institutional Advancement as director of corporate and community support. He works with High Point and Triad-area businesses that have an interest in supporting the university’s initiatives and events. His work allows the university to host events that provide students with holistic and experiential learning opportunities. Hill comes to HPU from the Winston-Salem Dash baseball team, where he was director of corporate partnerships. He has a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science with a concentration in sport administration.
Jill Gutierrez joins the Office of Financial Affairs as a senior accountant. She ensures funds are expended and reported properly while handling fixed asset and grant accounting as well as month-end close and year-end audits. Gutierrez, an HPU alumna, brings 10 years of experience in higher education accounting to the position. She has a Bachelor of Science in accounting from HPU and a Master of Business Administration.
Sarah Dettloff joins the Office of Information Technology as a helpdesk associate. She assists students in troubleshooting and solving computer issues, such as connecting to campus Wi-Fi or printers. She comes to HPU with nine years of customer service experience. She also has experience in retail management. She has an associate degree in biotechnology and is currently pursuing a degree in computer programming.
Kevin Saylor joins the Office of Information Technology as a systems specialist. His responsibilities include administering, upgrading and supporting enterprise applications for HPU. He ensures key IT programs are operational and efficient. Saylor has previous experience in IT administration and web development. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Divinity.
