Dear Parents and Students,
God is good. Today on our campus while snow is falling, my soul is rising with gratitude for our community of students, faculty and staff. It’s no surprise that students are excited by a cancelation of classes!
For me, moments like this allow me to take a recess to reassess. Reassess our level of gratitude for the serenity of the white-covered surface – and for the privilege of having your student at HPU. While our campus is quieted by the blanket of snow, it is still very much alive with youthful energy. Students have formed impromptu study groups by fireplaces in student centers and academic buildings. The café is popping as students warm up with coffee, tea, and the best omelet available in High Point – prepared by Kristy, who was here at 5:30am to make sure our students are well fed.
High Point University is so much more than an institution of higher learning, as grand as that alone can be. HPU is a living spirit that generates and shares gratitude, generosity, joy and service. HPU is a community that believes in the art of the possible. This campus community makes the conscious choice each and every day to be extraordinary!
So, regardless of the weather conditions where you are today, I wish for you a moment that allows you to actively be grateful for the blessings in your life. We can all agree there are so many good things going on with us. Let us focus on those!
Know that we appreciate every member of the HPU family. Together, we are on an extraordinary journey.
Sincerely,
Nido Qubein
HPU President
