Class of 2018 Outcomes: Rosana Filingeri Joins Gartner

Name: Rosana Filingeri

Hometown: Northport, New York

Major: Filingeri will graduate with a B.S.B.A. in Marketing on May 5.

Post-graduation plans: Filingeri will join Gartner in Fort Myers Florida as an account executive. She will be responsible for developing relationships with c-level and other senior executives. Filingeri will work with clients and prospects in a specified territory to ensure they understand and receive the maximum value from Gartner services.

How HPU helped you get there: “With the help of Professors Lary Quinn and Randy Moser, I established a connection with a representative from Gartner at the Professional Selling Club Career Fair last fall. After our introductions, I quickly got involved in the interview process for the sales internship which is a comprehensive program in Gartner’s small and midsize business sales channel. As an intern I worked to manage a group of named accounts, assist in the retention and growth of existing clients, and forge relationships with prospective clients. From the role as an intern I moved forward to accept a full time position with Gartner.

And, Career & Professional Development helped me construct a killer resume. I participated in a few class discussion where they came in and helped us prepare for interview questions and polish our resumes.”

Most impactful mentor at HPU: “From the moment I met professors Quinn and Moser they took me under their wing and guided in the right direction. Whether it was class, career or life advice- they always seemed to have the right words to push me towards success. Throughout my interview process with Gartner they were there for me to lean on, they helped me polish the skills we worked on in class and helped me see the full potential of the skillset I already had. Ultimately preparing me to put the best version of myself forward.“

Most impactful moment at HPU: “The moment at HPU that had the most impact on my life was when I declared myself a Sales Major and joined the Professional Selling Program. From that moment on, I felt career opportunities open for me. I participated in classes that helped me develop soft skills as well as gain an understanding for the sales process. As I am a few short weeks away from completing the program and moving towards graduation, I can confidently say that decision was an incredible turning point for me. I was able to join the Professional Selling Club which ultimately helped me make the connection that helped me find the company and job of my dreams.”

Advice for underclassmen: “Love whatever it is you decide to do. If you don’t like your major, change it. If you aren’t sure about a job, don’t take it. Happiness is the most important, the rest comes with it.”
