Post-graduation plans: Onufer plans to pursue a master’s degree in finance at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
How HPU helped you get there: “The most positive impact were the experiential learning opportunities that HPU offered. Few other schools offer such engaging and impactful opportunities to grow my professional skill set. From the industry speakers, out-of-class availability of professors and the Sales Club, I really took advantage of these resources. I also enjoyed the small-campus feel, positive environment and pleasant people. HPU gives students many ways to incubate success.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Professor Thomas James was the first finance professor I had. He was instrumental in my realization that finance was where I fit best in the business sector. He provided me with a solid understanding of finance, which I was able to apply during my experiential learning ventures. I really appreciated being able to meet with Professor James and discuss career possibilities, graduate school plans and even commuting to NYC, not far from my hometown.”
Most impactful moment at HPU: “Being supported by faculty and staff when I decided to graduate early was really impactful. I could not have accomplished this without my HPU mentors like Professor James.”
Advice for underclassmen: “Don’t assume you’ll figure it out. Actively interview successful people, look into career paths and how those careers progress, and think about what your future self might wish you had done during your time at HPU.”
