HPU Announces New Hires

HIGH POINT, N.C., April 6, 2018 – High Point University welcomed five new staff members during the month of March. They are as follows:

Tiffany Longjohn joined the Office of Student Life at HPU as a prevention specialist and clinical counselor. Longjohn provides counseling services to students and collaborates with other departments on programming to benefit student safety and wellbeing on campus. Her prior experience includes working with children, adolescents and adults in a community mental health agency. Longjohn holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. She is a licensed professional counselor and a nationally certified counselor.

 

Quintin Tucker joined the Office of Student Life at HPU as a resident director. He supervises the staff of resident assistants in Centennial Square 2 and serves on duty rotation for all of campus housing. He has prior experience as a resident director at other colleges and universities. Tucker has a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a master’s degree in sport and fitness administration.

 

Marc Sears joined the Office of Human Resources at HPU as director of human resources. He is responsible for employee programs, including recruitment, benefits, employee relations, and student employment. His work impacts the overall employee experience at HPU. Sears has held HR leadership roles in higher education for more than 20 years, including his most recent position at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He has a master’s degree in human resource management. He is a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the HR Certification Institute. He is also a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist and ISCEBS Fellow, both from the Wharton School of Business and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.

 

Katherine Satalino joined the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as the weekend campus visit coordinator. She coordinates campus visits for prospective students and families. Previously, she was a third-grade teacher. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and is certified in K-6 teaching.

 

 

Elaina Huffman joined the Office of Communications at HPU as a communications content manager. She coordinates story coverage for HPU’s various social media platforms and oversees photography, presentations and videography for the department. Previously, she was the morning reporter and on-air talent for Spectrum News, where she pitched and packaged stories daily in various formats. She has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in sociology.
