How HPU helped you get there: “HPU offers so many different organizations on campus to get involved in that push you outside of your comfort zone. Being a part of Alpha Kappa Psi, the professional business fraternity, and also holding a leadership position within the organization has pushed me in my professional career. The professors that I have had have been great resources to run career questions by. I also used the Career & Professional Development office early in the recruiting cycle to help me perfect both my resume and cover letter.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Dean Wehrley in the Phillips School of Business has been a very influential mentor to me. Every since entering HPU my freshman year, Dean Wehrley has been a go-to person for me to run thoughts or questions by, whether they be about academic courses or internship opportunities. Specifically when going through the recruiting cycle last fall for my finance internship, it was extremely helpful to talk through the process and opportunities with Dean Wehrley to get his opinion on everything.”
What has your internship experience been like, and how is it preparing you for your future?: “Through my internship experience at Goldman Sachs, I learned a wealth of new information and skills. The experience also helped me grow professionally. Working in New York City was an incredible experience to learn from the best and brightest in the industry and it has pushed me to reach their level of excellence in everything that I do. Since my freshman year at HPU, I have worked three days a week at a local financial planning firm. My internship experience in Goldman Sachs in New York provided me with opportunity to see the other side of the finance world, through the larger corporate asset management division. Having both internship experiences has helped me prepare for my future as I am learning about the specific areas in finance that are of interest to me.”
