HIGH POINT, N.C., April 4, 2019 – High Point University welcomed five new staff members in March. They are as follows:
Lisa Rudd joined the Department of Physical Therapy at HPU as a human physiology research assistant. She is responsible for the data collection and processing/analysis from physiological instruments within the Human Biomechanics and Physiology Laboratory. Rudd also recruits participants for laboratory experiments, manages participant scheduling and oversees research-related interventions from exercise training programs. She has a background in research and as a clinical professional with more than 15 years of experience. Rudd has bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and nursing, as well as two master’s degrees, one in biochemistry and molecular biology and another in analytical chemistry.
Bradley Purcell joined the Office of Institutional Advancement at HPU as director of gift planning. Purcell builds and strengthens relationships with alumni, parents and friends who give legacy gifts to the university. These gifts, often through financial or estate plans, support HPU’s endowment. Before joining the university, Purcell spent 26 years building endowments and enhancing campaign results for more than 50 nonprofit organizations, which increased their number of planned gift donors and major gift campaign revenue. He also practiced law in Greensboro early in his career. Purcell holds bachelor’s, master’s and juris doctor degrees.
Elizabeth Ward joined the Office of Communications at HPU as a creative project manager. She coordinates the production and design process for a variety of print and digital projects. This includes maintaining project schedules and working with various departments on campus to create materials for students, parents, faculty, alumni and prospective families. Ward previously worked as a military affairs agent on a university communications team. She completed her bachelor’s degree in communication studies in 2017.
Luke Logan joined the Office of Communications at HPU as a web developer. He maintains the university’s website, including the creation of new sites for departments and groups across campus as well as improving the website’s user experience. Logan previously worked in an agency creating custom websites and upgrading website security for clients. He also has experience in sales and holds a Bachelor of Science in English education.
Jen Firestine joined the Accounting Services Office at HPU as a purchasing/receivables accountant. She ensures university purchasing and receivables are processed seamlessly. She has 15 years of accounting experience with the High Point Enterprise, PepsiCo and IBM. Firestine has an associate degree in accounting.
