HPU to Host Eastern Music Festival Young Artists

HIGH POINT, N.C., June 20, 2019 – Musicians from around the world will share their talents at a complimentary concert hosted by High Point University. Eastern Music Festival’s Young Artists Wind Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. on July 15 in the Hayworth Fine Arts Center.

The EMF Young Artists Wind Ensemble will perform an entertaining mix of wind band favorites, from classical overtures to Broadway classics to blockbuster soundtracks and celebratory marches.

For almost six decades, Eastern Music Festival has brought together accomplished faculty, world-renown visiting artists and more than 265 young musicians who are taking their first steps toward careers in the performing arts.

The festival’s five-week summer season (June 22 through July 27) will include more than 65 concerts under the artistic direction of Gerard Schwarz. In addition, 30-plus outreach performances, including this concert at HPU, will be performed throughout the Piedmont Triad.
