This year’s “AcatoberPonyFest” event at High Point University benefited the Greater High Point Food Alliance.

HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 30, 2019 – High Point University’s Hayworth Fine Arts Center was nearly full for the annual “AcatoberPonyFest” event on Oct. 25 benefiting the Greater High Point Food Alliance.
Petal Points, one of HPU’s a cappella groups, and Charcoal Pony, HPU’s comedy improv group, partnered with other student organizations for a fun event that supported a local cause.
“It was such a wonderful experience performing with Petal Points at the ‘AcatoberPonyFest’ event this weekend,” said Emily Poindexter, a junior and assistant director of music for Petal Points. “Our ‘Mama Mia!’ medley, which included musical hits from ABBA, seemed to be a crowd favorite. We loved coming together with other performing arts groups to benefit the Greater High Point Food Alliance and reconnecting with Petal Point alumna during our 15th anniversary.”
Each group performed wearing themed costumes while singing and playing improv games.
