HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 4, 2019 – Clarice Sigsworth, a High Point University AmeriCorps VISTA, has organized a “Benefit Bash Concert” to support PNAC, an afterschool program for community children, on Nov. 15 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at COHAB, located at 1547 West English Road.
The “Benefit Bash Concert” will feature opening sets from HPU’s The Offbeats, UNC-Greensboro’s Chariots, both a cappella groups, and headliner band Reliably Bad. Tickets are $15 in advance by calling 330-819-5347 or $20 at the door. One-hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the transportation needs of PNAC, D-UP’s afterschool program.
Sigsworth is working with community partners on Washington Street like D-Up, the Community Writing Center and PNAC to build on existing programs and after school enrichment programs.
“Working with PNAC students has taught me how much life and energy HPU generates,” says Sigsworth. “I thought planning an event that evokes that same kind of infectious energy would show the High Point community how fun supporting local organizations can be.”
“Clarice understands our desire to provide a nurturing and safe environment to impart wisdom and expose our students to new activities,” says Jakki Davis, CEO and executive director of D-UP. “The fundraiser Clarice has created will ensure D-UP can continue to safely transport our students to and from services.”
