HPU to Host Annual Lessons and Carols Candlelight Service

High Point University’s chapel services will hold its annual Lessons and Carols Candlelight Service at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 4. The service, which will be held in the Charles E. Hayworth Memorial Chapel, is free and open to the public.


HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 21, 2019 – High Point University will bring the community together to remember and retell the Christmas story during the annual Lessons and Carols Candlelight Service at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 in the Charles E. Hayworth Memorial Chapel. The service is free and open to the public.

This special candlelight service, based on the traditional Festival of Lessons and Carols from King’s College in Cambridge, is the final chapel service of the fall semester, bringing the community together to remember and retell the Christmas story. It will feature members of the university community reading scripture and music led by the Chapel Choir.

Attendees should enter campus from University Parkway and Montlieu Avenue. Parking will be available behind Hayworth Fine Arts Center.

The service will be broadcast live to accommodate overflow attendance in the chapel fellowship hall and online at www.highpoint.edu/live and at www.facebook.com/hpuchapel.
