HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 5, 2019 – High Point University welcomed 12 new staff members in November. They are as follows:
Jonathan Mador joined the Office of Financial Services at HPU as a senior director of financial services. In this role, Mador will oversee the Office of Student Financial Planning and Office of Student Accounts. He brings over 20 years of management experience in higher education, more specifically private institutions in the northeast. Prior to HPU, he was an associate controller at a college in New York City. Mador holds a bachelor’s degree in human services and a master’s degree in counseling.
Bryanna Gutierrez-Bullard joined the Office of Information Technology at HPU as a helpdesk associate. In this role, Gutierrez-Bullard is responsible for creating helpdesk tickets to prioritize, isolate, track and resolve IT issues. Prior to HPU, she worked as an advanced repair agent at Geek Squad and as a contracting associate at AASKI Technology.
Erin Brady joined the Department of Physics at HPU as a planetarium and physics laboratory manager. In this role, Brady is responsible for creating new content for the planetarium, serving as the point of contact for students, faculty, and staff, scheduling visits, delivering shows and maintaining the space. As lab manager, she is responsible for keeping the lab spaces clean, orderly and safe, as well as working with the faculty to set up and take down the equipment for their introductory physics labs. Prior to this position, she created planetarium shows at the Cradle of Aviation Museum and Education Center in New York, has created a suite of robotic telescope laboratory activities for middle school-aged children and co-organized HPUniverse Day 2018. Brady is an HPU graduate with a bachelor’s degree in physics and studio art, and a minor in mathematics.
Amber Parrish joined the Office of Student Life at HPU as a resident director. In this role, Parrish supervises resident assistants to ensure a successful residence life experience for students in her assigned residence hall. Prior to HPU, she worked in school counseling and resident life, and served as an RA during her undergraduate education. Parrish has a master’s in school counseling and a bachelor’s in psychology, with minors in both women and gender studies and sociology
Deborah Power joined the Stout School of Education at HPU as an administrative assistant. In this role, Power oversees graduate program operations, budget management and accounting for the Stout School of Education, in addition to assisting faculty with instructional needs and providing support for Stout School of Education grant project directors. Prior to HPU, she worked in grant development and management within a higher education institution and served administratively in mortgage banking at Wells Fargo and Prudential Home Mortgage. Power has an associate’s degree in business administration.
Leia Stallings joined the Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy at HPU as a laboratory technician. In this role, Stallings is responsible for providing general care and maintenance for the laboratory animals and facilities, while providing assistance and supporting the research efforts of Dr. Scott Hemby, chair and professor of basic pharmaceutical sciences in the Congdon School of Health Sciences. Prior to HPU, she served as a laboratory animal technician at a local university and was a kennel staff technician at a veterinary hospital. Stallings has bachelor’s degrees in animal science and laboratory animal science.
Ed Chambers joined the Office of Financial Affairs at HPU as an assistant manager of procurement. In this role, Chambers will support the university in transitioning to a centralized procurement department. He has nearly 10 years of experience in purchasing, procurement and management, and holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies.
Fue Yang joined the Office of Information Technology at HPU as a computing support analyst. In this role, Yang is responsible for providing computing services and support to university staff and students. Prior to HPU, he was an assistant manager at a local bowling and entertainment center and worked in a variety of part-time IT roles. Yang has a bachelor’s degree in information systems and supply chain management, in addition to a CIT Degree and Web Certificate.
Tess Collins joined the Office of Student Affairs at HPU as a prevention specialist and clinical counselor. In this role, Collins will provide counseling services to students and develop and implement prevention programming to promote healthy behaviors and over-all well-being of students at High Point University. Prior to HPU, she worked in a variety of roles with direct clinical care, program coordination, case management and student services. Collins has a Master of Education in counseling psychology, a Bachler of Arts in education and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in North Carolina.
Nicholas Spino joined the Office of Institutional Advancement at HPU as a coordinator of electronic communications. In this role, Spino manages an electronic communications calendar in conjunction with the Offices of Family Engagement, Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement, designs email communications to current and prospective donors and manages the Office of Institutional Advancement’s website and social media. Prior to this position, he held several jobs on campus as a student worker and completed internships with the Asheboro Copperheads, Creative Services, Inc. and Aqua America, a water and wastewater utility company headquartered in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Spino is an HPU graduate with a bachelor’s degree in communication, with a concentration in sport communication, and a minor in sport management. He also holds a Hootsuite Platform Certification.
Foy Morton joined the Office of Facility Operations at HPU as an assistant manager in the University Mail Center. In this role, Morton assists various operational activities of the University Mail Center, including receiving and directing mail and packages for faculty, staff and students. Prior to HPU, he worked at UPS as a senior account manager. Morton holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management.
Greg Moore joined the Office of Information Technology at HPU as an instructional designer. In this role, Moore is responsible for assisting faculty in creating and refining courses. Before coming to HPU, he taught undergraduate history and theology courses. Moore holds a master’s in theology, with additional work in ancient and classical history.
