HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 9, 2019 – During High Point University’s 49th annual Community Prayer Breakfast on Dec. 6, HPU President Nido Qubein honored former Board of Trustees Chairman Jack Finch.
Qubein and Dr. Bob Brown, current chairman of the board, welcomed Finch on stage and presented him with a painted portrait to commemorate his time as board chair and his contributions to the university.
“Jack has been an incredible supporter of HPU for many years,” said Qubein. “He and his wife have been remarkable, not just with benevolence but as friends of ours, and have shown leadership and love for this university.”
Finch was elected chairman of the board in 2016. He has been a longtime supporter of HPU, beginning with the Jack Finch Endowed Scholarship, which Finch established in the 1990s, and capital projects, including the Stout School of Education and campus beautification.
Finch is president of Finch Industries, Inc. in Thomasville, where he oversees North America’s leading supplier of decorative glass and mirror products for the furniture, medicine cabinet, decorative wall and manufactured housing industries.
“I am honored to be part of a university that has grown so much under Dr. Qubein’s leadership,” said Finch. “It has been a privilege serving as chairman of the Board of Trustees. I will continue my support for the board, Dr. Qubein and the entire HPU family.”
