Top 10 Most Instagrammable Spots on Campus: Christmas Edition

If all you want for Christmas is cute pics, High Point University’s campus decks more than just the halls.

1. The Pop-Up Art Wall

The wall outside the Slane Student Center is ever-changing. Often including fun props, this is a can’t-miss location on campus! Pro tip: Smile! If you “Scrooge” you lose.

2. The DREAM BIG Chairs

Even this classic campus landmark is decorated for the holidays! The Dream Big Chairs are a pair of rocking chairs that stand 16-feet-tall on top of a hill overlooking Hayworth Park. You can climb them, stick out your tongue to catch some snowflakes and snap a pic of yourself embracing what these chairs represent—the opportunity to dream big and embrace what life throws your way. Confident. Unafraid.

3. Life-Size Nativity Scene

Visitors often remark that their favorite campus holiday decoration is the life-size Nativity scene, complete with 23 Nativity figurines. The Nativity scene figurines were donated by Mark Phillips, founder and president of Phillips Collection in High Point. The Nativity scene is also illuminated at night, making it a great photo opportunity any time of day!

4. Campus Christmas Trees

There are so many Christmas trees for you to rock around on HPU’s campus. This tree, located in the Wilson School of Commerce lobby, is complete with red ribbons, garland and poinsettias that surround the base. It’s a photo favorite for the #HPUFamily!

5. Slane Student Center Overlook

Located just inside the Slane Student Center above the HPU dining tables, this sparkling backdrop of hanging lights is sure to help you “sleigh” your holiday photos!

6. Slane Student Center Lobby

Show your Panther Pride with these purple trees framing the HPU emblem  inside the Slane Student Center. It’s un-fir-gettable!

7. Nutcrackers

Have your own “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” moment with the battalion of nutcrackers stationed all across campus! From life-size statues, to giant nutcrackers, you’ll feel like the star in a Christmas classic.

8. Double Helix

Located in Congdon Hall – a 220,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art health care education facility that shines from floor to ceiling with innovative lab spaces and technology when you step inside – this DNA Sculpture looks good enough to eat. Lit up to resemble a candy cane, you won’t be able to resist this sweet photo op!

Caption suggestion: Cane you believe it’s Christmas!?

9. Hayworth Fine Arts Center Wreath

If you like it, then you should put a wreath on it!

Many of HPU’s state-of-the-art facilities are adorned with beautiful giant wreaths. Stop in front of the Hayworth Fine Arts Center to take an “elfie” in front of one! Pro tip: The glass windows of the Fine Arts Center are illuminated in the evening. Magical moments are best photographed here at dusk.

10. North Carolina’s Largest Christmas Tree

Located in front of the Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena and Conference Center, this Christmas tree is the largest in the state of North Carolina!
