HPU Announces New Hires

HIGH POINT, N.C., Feb. 5, 2020 – High Point University welcomed 11 new staff members in January. They are as follows:

Kelley McCrary joined the Office of Admissions at HPU as a weekend campus visit coordinator. In this role, McCrary assists the thousands of prospective students and their families visiting campus. Prior to HPU, she worked in the childcare center at the Tom A. Finch Community YMCA. McCrary graduated from HPU in 2019 and holds a bachelor’s degree in strategic communication, with a minor in marketing. She is currently in the MBA program at HPU and will graduate with her master’s degree in May 2020.

 

Ashley Burrough joined the Office of Academic Services at HPU as a student engagement and life skills coach. In this role, Burroughs is responsible for helping students define success and achieve their goals at HPU and beyond. This includes providing academic and transitional support and coaching to designated students. With 10 years of experience in undergraduate admissions at various universities, she has worked as an enrollment specialist, an admissions coordinator, assistant director for Link, associate director of admissions and as interim director for Academic Services and Enrollment Management. Burrough is a member of various higher education organizations, including NACAC, SACAC, CIVSA and NACADA. She holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a master’s degree in college student affairs, with a concentration in conflict analysis and resolution.

 

Tonya Gibson joined the Office of Accessibility Resources and Services at HPU as an administrative assistant. In this role, Gibson is responsible for providing support to the OARS staff members, managing and coordinating their schedules as they provide assistance to the students. Prior to HPU, she was a student account coordinator, with eight years of customer service experience. Gibson holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics.

 

 

Angelica Wilson joined the Office of Student Success at HPU as a student success coach. In this role, Wilson is responsible for providing academic and transitional support to freshmen and sophomores. Prior to joining HPU, she served as an enrollment and match specialist for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle, a non-profit mentoring program for youth facing adversity. Wilson holds a bachelor’s degree in dance and a master’s degree in social work.

 

 

Mikalyn Sprague joined the Office of Career and Professional Development at HPU as an employee relations and marketing/events specialist. In this role, Sprague is responsible for maintaining relationships with businesses and organizations that work with HPU and offer internships and jobs for HPU students. She also organizes Career Service events for students and manages Purple Briefcase. Prior to HPU, she worked in a university bookstore as a student marketing assistant. Sprague graduated with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and minored in psychology.

 

Andrew Younger joined the Office of Institutional Advancement at HPU as an advancement officer. In this role, Younger is responsible for connecting individuals and families with the mission and vision of High Point University. Prior to HPU, he worked in the healthcare industry in a variety of roles, ranging from digital communications to development, and completing his tenure as director of a pediatric orthopedic specialty. Younger holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing, a master’s degree in marketing and has CFRE (Certificate in Fundraising Executive) and CFRM (Certificate in Fundraising Management) accreditation.

 

Jazmine Crumpton joined the Office of Student Life at HPU as a clinical counselor. In this role, Crumpton sees students at HPU for a variety of counseling needs. She has a background in working with children, adolescents and young adults by doing support groups, in home therapy and preparation for adulthood, outpatient services, day treatment and therapy in public schools. Crumpton holds a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and a Nationally Certified Counselor.

 

Yasmene Dergham joined the Office of Student Success at HPU as a flex success coach. In this role, Dergham will connect with incoming HPU students and assist in the transition to college. As a 2019 HPU graduate, she held several on-campus positions as a student, including an employee in the Admissions Call Center, a university events usher, an Arabic tutor and a phone interviewer in the Survey Research Center. At HPU, Dergham double majored in international relations and political science, and minored in Middle Eastern history.

 

Deep Dave joined the Office of Student Success at HPU as a flex success coach. In this role, Dave will assist incoming HPU students with important tasks, such as identifying the best academic major or class schedule. Prior to joining the HPU family, he was an admissions counselor and athletics liaison at another institution. Dave holds a bachelor’s degree in integrated marketing communications and is currently working on his master’s in higher education with a concentration in student affairs leadership.

 

Linda Harring joined the Office of Communications at HPU as an assistant director of admissions marketing. In this role, Harring serves as a liaison of creative materials for the Office of Communications and the Department of Admissions. Prior to HPU, she was a freelance graphic artist for. Harring has worked in the creative area of higher education for more than 20 years and holds a bachelor’s degree in communications.

 

 

Polett Rosztoczy joined the Office of Human Resources at HPU as an assessment and training coordinator. In this role, Rosztoczy is responsible for enhancing the on campus work experiences and professional development opportunities for students. Prior to HPU, she had an internship with nThrive, a revenue cycle management company. Rosztoczy is a 2018 HPU graduate and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
