HIGH POINT, N.C., Mar. 9, 2020 – High Point University welcomed seven new staff members in February. They are as follows:
Ashley Hintermeyer joined the Office of Student Life at HPU as a resident director. In this role, Hintermeyer will supervise resident assistants to ensure a successful residence life experience for students in her assigned residence hall. Prior to HPU, she worked in the Financial Aid Office at another university and as a facility director for the Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity Housing Corporation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in communication, with a focus on public relations, and a Master of Science in college student affairs.
Litha Charles joined the Office of Student Life at HPU as a clinical counselor. In this role, Charles will provide therapeutic mental health services and education and prevention. Prior to HPU, she worked in public school and private practice settings serving children, adolescents, adults and families. Charles holds a Master of Education in counseling with a specialty in school counseling and is a licensed clinical mental health counselor with the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors.
Jane Oudshoorn joined the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at HPU as a department administrator. In this role, Oudshoorn will serve as the liaison between the department chair, faculty, staff and students in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to HPU, she was a financial analyst, business manager, budget examiner, assistant project manager, operations analyst and cost analyst. Oudshoorn holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance.
Lauren Whitley joined the Office of Communications at HPU as a coordinator of university events. In this role, Whitley will coordinate events for the university’s In-Residence Program, 1924 Prime fine dining learning lab, Governor’s School West of North Carolina that is hosted on campus, and assist with other events. Prior to HPU, she worked at Pinnacle Bank and was a political campaign manager. Whitley holds a degree in political science, with a focus on pre-law.
Maria Espinosa joined the Office of Admissions at HPU as an admissions phone counselor. In this role, Espinosa is the first point of contact for the Undergraduate Admissions office, assisting prospective students and their families through the enrollment process. Prior to HPU, she worked as a human resources and recruiting assistant and a business development representative. Espinosa holds a bachelor’s degree in communications, with a concentration in public relations and organizational communications, in addition to a master’s degree in health communications and a certificate in sports management.
Scott Koper joined the Office of Human Resources at HPU as a payroll specialist. In this role, Koper will be responsible for preparing, processing and auditing payroll for the university. He brings 18 years of experience as a manager in the medical field and holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources.
Kelli Williams joined the Office of Human Resources at HPU as an operations coordinator. In this role, Williams oversees the payroll and budgetary items for the Student Employment Program. Prior to HPU, she spent four years working in the special education industry. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education, is licensed in special education and is working on her accounting specialist certification.
