Class of 2020 Outcomes: Annie Rexha Seizes a Future in Science

Hometown: Lewisville, North Carolina

Major: Neuroscience

Post-graduation plans: Rexha will be attending the Wake Forest School of Medicine to pursue a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences.

How HPU helped you get there: “HPU’s science courses and small class sizes really prepared me to handle graduate-level science courses.”

Most impactful mentor at HPU: “My most impactful mentor at HPU was Dr. Grider, he helped me prepare for my graduate school interview and helped me realize that I am capable to achieve great things in the science field as a female in STEM.”

Most impactful moment at HPU: “Being able to be a research assistant for the HPU Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy as an undergraduate, as well as being published in a neurobiology journal as an undergraduate, were two of the most impactful moments I had at HPU.”

Advice for underclassmen: “Make sure that you keep your connections that you have made during your undergraduate career and network as much as you can.”
