HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 19, 2021 – The High Point University family is counting their blessings as part of “The Gratitude Project,” an annual campaign that allows students, faculty and staff to share what they are thankful for this Thanksgiving.
This is the 11th year that HPU has organized this project to provide everyone on campus an opportunity to pause, reflect, and document their blessings by writing them down.

HPU students shared they are grateful for a variety of blessings, including “friends and family,” “President Qubein,” “HPU Theater family” and “waking up every morning.”
“I am grateful for the privilege to experience life on an earth this beautiful,” says Kate Bosley, a freshman from Charlotte, North Carolina. “The gift of life is something to be thankful for.”

Several students partnered together to share their thankfulness. Two freshmen mentioned that they are grateful for a university president who is involved and present on campus.
“I am thankful for Dr. Nido Qubein,” says Ben Weed, a freshman from Boston, Massachusetts. “Every time I see him on campus, he is really kind and actually greets me.”
Sophomore Gianna Rizzo is thankful to have all the opportunities that HPU offers.
“I’m in pre-med, and I’m traveling to Guatemala through the opportunities HPU has given me,” says Rizzo, a student from Long Island, New York. “I wouldn’t have been able to find this at any other school, and for that I am grateful.”

Students also simply wrote down that they are thankful for their loved ones.
“I am grateful for my amazing friends and family,” says Katie Bozek, a senior from Fort Worth, Texas. “They have been a huge support system throughout college, and I honestly wouldn’t be here without them.”
