How HPU helped you get there: “My classes at HPU, such as my communications fellows class with Professor Elizabeth Illig and the course Foundations of Strategic Communication, prepared me with the skillset and confidence to search for internships, market myself and tackle any task I am presented with.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “I have had many impactful mentors at HPU because the faculty and staff are so enthusiastic about helping students that are ambitiously working towards something. Elizabeth Illig, in the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication, is one of my most impactful mentors, and I accredit many of the skills I applied to secure this internship to her thoughtful teachings and critiques throughout our semesters together. Her enthusiastic and realistic conveyance of the importance of networking and being persistent inspired me to pursue an internship that I am passionate about and will help me further my skillset and connections for the future. I can’t wait to see her and tell her all about this amazing experience.”
What has your internship experience been like, and how is it preparing you for your future?: “I have been exposed to so many aspects of the communication field. My internship allowed me to focus on what I really enjoy doing and the skills I need to strengthen if I want to do it as a profession. It also opened up networking opportunities I never could’ve imagined. Overall, this internship was an opportunity to learn, grow and experience.”
