Name: Harris Eisenberg

Hometown: Old Bethpage, New York

Year: Class of 2022

Major: Sports media with a minor in sport management

Internship: Over the summer, Eisenberg was a broadcasting intern in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he served as a production assistant for all Tampa Bay Rays radio broadcasts. In his role, he recorded pregame and postgame audio, voice and print radio commercial spots, and produced highlight reels. He also gained experience writing the postgame blog and with play-by-play announcing.

How HPU helped you get there: “HPU has all the opportunities inside and outside the classroom to prepare me for the future. All the work I did with the Rays repeated the work I have done at HPU. I visited HPU’s Office of Career and Professional Development to receive help building my resume.”

Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Everyone, from professors to staff in the athletic communications office, has served as my mentor at HPU. They invested in my success, saw that I wanted to aim high and gave me the proper guidance to get to where I am today.”

What has your internship experience been like, and how is it preparing you for your future?: “It was incredible to work in a Major League Baseball ballpark and see what it is like working in the media. I saw a new take on how everything in the media is done and was always observing others and asking questions to learn about things I want to do in the future. I feel that this major league experience, at a young age, will benefit me immensely down the line.”
